Have a wonderful summer!
2008-09 School Year
and Summer Hours
The first school day for Rumney students will be Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Bus routes are in the process of being updated and revised for next year, and the Rumney School Board will be approving them over the summer. We expect to still have four buses. The routes will be published in mid- to late-August. Check our website: www.rumney.org for the updated routes, as well as other school news such as PTO meetings, school board meetings, and soccer news. The Rumney office is covered throughout the summer at reduced hours, so if you have any questions, you can call and leave a message, or email office@rumney.org. Thanks, and have a safe, relaxing summer!
Please Pay Your Food Service Account!
Even though the school year is over, you can STILL pay off your food service account balance! It is very important to our food service program to end the year with balances paid in full. Any positive balances for returning students will carry over to next year. Please send a check payable to Rumney School by mail to:

Four-Winds 2008-09 Classroom Volunteers Needed!
Has your child come home talking about what they learned in the exciting monthly Four-Winds program? This hands-on nature learning experience is provided in all classes with age-appropriate activities. The theme this year was 'adaptations,' and next year will be 'habitats.' Rumney School has contracted with the Four-Winds program to provide instruction for teaching the nature program again next year.
This program relies on classroom volunteers! To be a Four-Winds volunteer, all you need is an interest in working in the classroom (you choose the age level) and approximately 5 hours every other month. In addition you will,
* attend a 3-hour Monday training seminar either monthly or every other month
* prepare supplies for lessons
* present lesson in 2 classrooms (approx. 1-1/2 hours)
Though you won't be required to attend the trainings in order to present, the trainings are interesting, valuable, and prepare you to teach the lessons even if you don't have the knowledge in the subject. Look for more details and a planning meeting to be held in the fall after school starts. Contact Kim Bolduc at 229-1956. This is a great way to help out in your child's classroom and enjoy the outdoors!
